Welcome to the FAA and an entire day of Human Resources and although it might seem like a test to see if you can stay awake during a lull in activity there is a lot that can be taken away.
First off, and I cannot stress this enough, this is most likely the first time you have met your entire class, and make sure you do just that. Walking up to everyone, introducing yourself, and making sure everyone is on a contact listing is a good way to build your network.
You won't be able to do much yet but you can still do something for sure! You'll be able to do some benefits online or at least start your research. The people who have most confidently made their decisions are those that were able to narrow down specific plans that fit their life and filtered the providers based on the disclosures. It might be a good time to look into buying a book on some of the items. You'll have 60 days to sign up for the services which should be enough time to fit in a book.
One last note is that it could be in your interest to drive around the facility some to familiarize yourself with the area. It'll help when looking for food or when you have to start in different buildings.
